A Better World

As I lay down on my death bed
They come to me, announcing victory of the revolution we led
Finally, we’ve come together as one
Accepting similarities and differences we have shun

A war fought without weapons
Who would have thought it possible, a victory by sole reasons?
A world without race wars and prejudice
Where we’re fighting to be each other’s nemesis

With love outweighing hate
We restored hope in our fate
Faith in humanity and in our future
Celebrating my culture, your culture, our culture, their culture

Exhausted from rising from the ground, who said it would be easy?
Sweated out tears and energy, we’re left feeling queasy
The world is not safe, fair or kind
We make up the world, change starts with a shift of the mind

Such beauty is that, me, you, and them, are both different and similar
My hair, your eyes, and their body, are all perfectly regular
We breathe, eat, bleed, sleep, poop, suffer sickness and death the same
Rejecting one another based on color, custom, religion and race is lame

As humans, we are all animals
Like the discovery channel, we all are many channels
Providing something different and unique to this giant network
As we continue to discover more of this earth through collaborative work

Rude awakening from an unfinished dream, I twist and twirled
Was this only a dream or a future vision of a better world?
