“I Choose You”

Strip me down, tough exterior

Beneath it all, I’m a fragile soul

Wash my makeup, inferior

Beneath the mask, I’m a simple soul

Look me in the eye

Tell me it’ll be okay

If I open up my heart

Promise me you won’t run away

I can be as tough as a nail, and hide it all

(Sneaky as a snail)

I can be as silly as a goose, and bare it all

(Let my tongue loose)

So come on, come on, come on, come a little closer

Come on, come on, come on, cause I choose you

Here’s my secret, tuck it away

Promise me, you’ll never speak of it

Close the lock, throw the key away

Don’t look back, abandon it

As I look you in the eye

I can see that it’s okay

To open up my heart

I can see you won’t run away

I can be as tough as a nail, and hide it all

(Sneaky as a snail)

I can be as silly as a goose, and bare it all

(Let my tongue loose)

So come on, come on, come on, come a little closer

Come on, come on, come on, cause I choose you

In my closet, are where my demons hide

I keep it closed, I make them hard to find

My skeletons, they’re my very best friends

The things they hide, oh it will blow your mind

Me and you, we both lock eyes

We can see that it’s okay

To open up our hearts

Together we will run away

I can be as tough as a nail, and hide it all

(Sneaky as a snail)

I can be as silly as a goose, and bare it all

(Let my tongue loose)

So come on, come on, come on, come a little closer

Come on, come on, come on, don’t be afraid

Come on, come on, come on, come a little closer

Come on, come on, come on, cause I choose you
